Organic Imprints

Organic Imprints
As the setting grows, it becomes necessary to fill in gaps and make the pieces fit, and as such it will adapt to the characters who live in and influence it. This results in organic imprints - a shift in the setting’s understanding of the world, based on how characters interact with it. To this end, we ask for players to submit threads which discuss or explore particular ideas that they wish to see expanded on.

Organic imprints do not cost any influence from the player, but are chosen by mod discretion only. Most organic imprints will be based on character conversations, debates and actions. Conscious attempts to alter the setting’s understanding of something will usually fail initially, but may succeed with persistence. If a particular idea is being explored by a large number of characters, it is also more likely to be picked up as an organic imprint. We may also implement organic changes based on threads that are not submitted to this page. However, we are not omniscient, so we highly recommend submitting something here if you want to make sure we see it.

Interactions that should be submitted here include:
  • conversations about characters' understanding of certain concepts
  • attempts to explain details of the world and how it functions
  • experiments or interactions that test the world's understanding of certain concepts
  • direct attempts to force the world to understand something, such as by repeating the same action over and over again until the "correct" result is achieved
Physical changes to locations may also be submitted as organic imprints if they may also have larger effects on the setting or surrounding area, such as putting up a sign with rules or creating a new pathway through an area. However, physical changes should primarily be submitted through the Locations page.

For detailed information on what imprints are, the different categories of imprints, regains, and so on, please see the section for Influence & Imprints on the FAQ.

Character(s): Arashi Narukami, feat. Viridi, Zhongli, Leo

Ideas explored: The void is actually, genuinely a sentient being that can be taught, learn from mistakes, and so on. I know similar concepts were put forth by players before, so this is more of reinforcing it than anything. Also that its name is Kyo. Thanks Leo.... Arashi's literally only calling them that from now on. I promise my flower organic imprint is cominggg I've been meaning to submit this one.
Thread description: A few threads here for your perusal!

1. Arashi and Viridi talk a little about the Void not figuring things out yet, and Arashi wondering if they could just teach the Void the way parents teach their babies how to walk, important life lessons, etc.

2. Though this technically goes for her whole top-level's first prompt, Arashi and Zhongli talk a bit about how the Void seems to observe and learn from the things they do.

3. Leo's named the Void, or what he perceives to be the god of this place, and of course Arashi has decided to adopt it - Kyo. That aside, they're talking about how the Void seems to learn - that it really is able to be taught, considering Leo's teaching(?) it music, and it experiments with its own thing as seen with the jukebox at Heavenly Leblanc and so on.
