Bestiary

Bestiary People Unclassified Dragons Machines Plants Spirits
Below is a list of all species that have been defined within the world. New species will be added and expanded on as the game develops. There are no "official" names for the world's species. Instead, characters are expected to name the creatures themselves. To submit a name, please see the Name Suggestions thread at the bottom of the page.

Characters in the game may also be defined as a species and inherit traits from those species. To request a new species for your character or have a species definition removed, please leave a comment in the Species Assigment thread below.

Note that all species descriptions are still subject to the laws and physics of the world as defined on the State of the World page.

People
As varied as they are alien, "people" are defined by their ability to exert influence on the world. They are all considered alive and capable of intelligent communication, but otherwise may not share any common traits between specimens. People do not originate from anywhere in the known world and instead arrive from a distant, mysterious dimension through unknown means.

All characters in the game are considered people.

Unclassified
These creatures fall into no particular category.

????
A large four-legged mammal known best for its tall neck, distinct spotted hide, and feathered wings. These creatures are most commonly found in the forest around Mortis Lake, using their superior height to munch on leaves and fruits from the tops of trees. Their hides are typically pale with vibrantly colored spots and feathers over top, though many have been seen to be a dull brown color instead.

Though their wings are fully functional, they have trouble flying due to their awkward proportions. Thus, they mostly prefer to stay on the ground.

Pegasus: Melinoë (Original Character)
Giraffe: Kaoruko Hanayagi (Shoujo☆Kageki Revue Starlight)

Brushboys
About three foot in length, these furry creatures run around on all fours but often choose to stand on their hind legs when resting or watching those around them. They are most commonly found in Mt Silver, particularly in the Market areas, but seem to like being around buildings and structures in general. Although they do not speak, they are able to understand both written and spoken language and are highly intelligent.

They have very large paws, and while not inclined to bite unless threatened they also possess sharp teeth and strong jaws. Their most notable feature, however, is their long tail that secretes a colored paint from its brush-like tip. This is used not only to mark territory, but also to create graffiti and artwork over any surface they deem suitable. As each individual has a different color paint, groups of them may come together to create large and colorful murals. When there are changes to locations within the world, it's also common to see the brushboys traveling around to update all of the signs with new names and directions.

While they are quite shy and prone to hiding when seen, they are gentle and friendly creatures. If approached politely, they will communicate with people through pictograms and simple words drawn with their tails. Fellow art-lovers will have an easy time befriending them and may even find the brushboys going out of their way to be helpful. If someone is rude or mistreats them, however, they will refuse to communicate with that person and avoid them instead. Individuals that gain a negative reputation among the brushboys may even find their homes marked with a black X, signaling other creatures to steer clear.

Smeargle: Professor Oak (Pokémon)
Moomba: Rinoa Heartilly (Final Fantasy VIII)

Chickpeewoos
These small, plump, bird-like creatures are about the size of a soccer ball, and are commonly found throughout the region. They are most commonly found in the wooded areas, as they tend to favor low ground, and the foliage gives them some protection from flying predators. They have especially dexterous feet, which resemble the hands of the people around them.

Though they possess what might be described as 'wings', these creatures are featherless, flightless, and brainless. They are docile creatures, and as well as being easy prey for hunters and predators alike, they are also easily captured and tamed. They do not appear to think of people as a threat to their existence, and will often approach them out of apparent curiosity.

All chickpeewoos are capable of laying 'eggs', which they do infrequently and at random. These eggs will never hatch into more animals, but if eaten, they... taste like eggs.

Chickpeewoos may evolve into bluurgobos once they have learned to control their running skills and honed them to a certain threshold.

Nug: Cole (Dragon Age: Inquisition)
Chicken: Lan Wangji (The Untamed)

Cacteddies
These multicolored creatures look uncannily like the severed heads of stuffed toy bears, but a closer glance at their empty, vacant expressions and the layers of sharp needles sticking out of their fur make them anything but cute and cuddly. In addition to these shorter needles, they also have control over a ring of larger, longer needles that attach to somewhere underneath their heads. Two simple legs stick out from below the heads as well, which they use to move in a deceptively fast waddling motion, and they can also extend and retract a set of arms at will from the same area.

Cacteddies seem to have a fondness for old, damaged buildings and can be commonly found in the Hammerlocke Ruins, as well as around Messiah and the Lemon Cello Church. They'll use their ring of large needles as tools and attempt to repair any buildings they come across, filling in holes and damaged areas with a surprisingly strong thread taken from inside their bodies. They’re quite productive when they buckle down and cooperate, but their tendency to take long, uncoordinated breaks means that very little work actually gets done, and it's much more common to find them lounging around a ruined area than actually working on it.

They are docile if approached gently, but very easily startled - their defense mechanism is to spray a barrage of needles expelled from all angles of their heads before running away. These needles are not deadly, but do sting on contact. They will also stubbornly catch onto any sort of hair or fabric they land on, and can take some time to pry out.

Uwasa of the Worker Bears: Touka Satomi (Magia Record)
Cactuars: Zack Fair (Final Fantasy VII)

Bluurgobos
A bipedal creature that possesses both reptilian and avian qualities that may or may not be related to the smaller, similarly nude critters found in the world. The main differences of this breed come in their rotund bodies, large facial features, sparse plumage, taloned feet, and beaks lined with sharp teeth. They come in several varieties of feather colors, but this appears to be purely cosmetic. Those with the largest head plumage, however, are considered the leaders of the small herds that they travel within.

Despite their intimidating appearances, they are normally docile in the wild. However, they have quite the competitive streak and can often be found in open plains challenging each other in tests of speed and agility. Outside of these activities they can also be found lingering around subway tracks and stations, though why they choose to do this remains a mystery.

Taming these free-spirited beasts is an exercise in patience thanks to their initial stoicism and stubbornness, but it is possible! Once bonded to a person, they will slowly open up and become the most loyal of companions, gladly offering them rides on their backs (heads?). With enough training, they can also be used for feats of physical labor.

Bluurgobos may evolve from chickpeewoos that have learned to control their running skills and honed them to a certain threshold.

Chocobos: Sephiroth (Final Fantasy VII)
Blurrgs: Ahsoka Tano (Star Wars)

Dragons
As the concept of 'dragons' is varied in different people's experiences, the idea of 'dragon' encompasses many things. Their more common traits include thick scales, sharp teeth, claws, wings and protruding horns, though not every breed exhibits all of these traits. If it has wings and claws, it is probably a 'dragon' by this reality's standards, and will often exhibit draconic traits and behaviors even if they might initially resemble another kind of creature. Most dragons are naturally aggressive and dangerous to handle, even in smaller sizes.

People may also be classified as dragons. Dragon people may inherit additional draconic traits aside from those that they arrived with.

Characters Classified as Dragons

Dragonite & Pidgey [personal profile] symbolofstrength
Espio the Chameleon [personal profile] metachrosis
Pidgeot [personal profile] halloflamer
Zhongli [personal profile] pragmatism

????
A small aquatic dragon with bright orange scales, wing-like fins and long whiskers. These fish-like creatures are fast in the water and can leap to extreme heights with the aid of their fins, reaching the tops of high waterfalls with ease. Though unable to properly fly, they can "hop" on dry land by bouncing on their sides and will frequently travel onto land to pursue their prey. They can be found in nearly any body of water.

They are vicious, temperamental beasts that can be relentless once enraged. They attack by attempting to bite (they thankfully do not have teeth) and stabbing their prey with the sharp claws on their fins; on land they are also known to slam into their prey with the full force of their leaping bodies. They will usually lose interest once their prey stops moving, however, and return to the water until something else disturbs them.

These creatures are naturally drawn to underwater ley lines, where they will gorge themselves on large quantities of mana until their scales shine a pale blue. Once these dragons have had their fill, they will rise to the surface and expel all of their energy as large, violent blasts of white lightning directed at anything that moves. It is advisable to steer clear of areas that have had recent blue dragon sightings.

Magikarp: Lance (Pokémon)
Dragon: Seto Kaiba (Yu-Gi-Oh)

????
Furry, feathery animals the size of a domestic cat. They have four legs and a pair of small wings on their backs. Their heads are mostly covered in feathers, and they have short, sharp beaks and a pair of furry ears. The rest of their bodies are covered in soft fur. There are two distinct breeds, differentiated by the length of their ears and tails: the long-eared breeds tend to be very timid and live primarily in the higher peaks of Mount Silver, while the short-eared breeds are more bold and attention-seeking and build their nests in the warmer areas closer to the mountain’s base.

While these creatures are predatory, and will scratch with their sharp claws or peck when threatened, they can be tamed by people. They enjoy gentle head pats, belly rubs, and being scratched behind the ears, and will happily hang around anyone that gives them positive attention.

Cat: Leo Tsukinaga (Ensemble Stars)
Rabbit: Wuxian Wei (The Untamed)
Pidgey: Blue Oak (Pokémon)

Machines
Creatures that are made primarily of metal are known as machines. Their most notable trait is their strong pack mentality and telepathic communication. A lone machine doesn't amount to much, but a group of machines may link their minds together with others of their species to share information and form strategies. Decisions among machines are usually made for the benefit of the majority over individuals within their packs.

People may also be classified as machines. Machine people within 100 yards of each other may link their minds together, allowing them to share information in the form of language, images and emotions. All participants must be willing and within range of at least one other person in the mindlink to maintain it.

Machine people who are able to befriend other machines species may also be granted access to that species' hivemind network. The reliability and usefulness of these networks may vary, and access can be revoked if they lose the collective trust of that species.

Characters Classified as Machines
Add & Dynamo [personal profile] psychokinesia
Legion [personal profile] forwearemany
Turing [personal profile] begetblue

Piranha Stubbies
Small metal creatures shaped like a tin can, with a round and spotted head. They can often be found shuffling around in civilized areas and ruins, forming small traveling groups that wander aimlessly about. Occasionally a large number of them will gather together and form a "tribe", though they lack the intelligence to do much more than infest a place and perform disorganized patrols. They are most commonly seen in Messiah and washed up along Takoba Beach.

The round "head" can flip open like a trash can, revealing a circle of sharp white teeth and a dirt-filled interior. Planted inside is a bulbous spotted plant with yet another toothy maw. The plants appear to share a symbiotic relationship with their metal hosts.

Despite their small size and limited movement, piranha stubbies are highly territorial and aggressive when provoked. They attack invaders by swinging their arms or biting with their bodies and plants, and may attempt to hold a person down to chomp on them in larger groups. They’re harmless as long as you stay out of their way, however, and generally do not go looking for fights. Around other machines species they are surprisingly docile, though they will still attack if they feel threatened.

Because they tend to gather in tribes, the piranha stubby network has wide coverage around the entire Takoba Beach area. It's possible to send messages from the base of Mount Silver to as far as Messiah and the WSJ thanks to the many piranha stubby communities that are scattered around the area.

Piranha stubbies may evolve if they are taught the basics of elemental magic.

Stubbies: 2B (Nier: Automata)
Piranha Plants: Bowser Koopa (Super Mario)

????
A piranha stubby that has taught itself to harness the basics of elemental magic may evolve into this far more dangerous creature. These carnivorous plant-machine hybrids have retained the polka-dots of their base form, but their bulbous heads have now grown much larger and bloomed into a flower with large, billowing petals. They hunt by burrowing under the sands of Takoba Beach, leaving their vibrant flower above ground to lure in unsuspecting prey before forcefully chomping down on them with a row of hidden teeth. They are much more vulnerable when above ground, and can be paralyzed if struck directly on the flimsy metal that makes up their lower bodies.

There are currently two varieties of this species: those with red coloring are aligned with fire and prefer to burn their prey after snapping down on it, while those with blue coloring control ice and will freeze whatever gets caught between their petals, immobilizing it for easy consumption.

Whopperflowers: Zhongli (Genshin Impact)
Stubbies: 2B (Nier: Automata)
Piranha Plants: Bowser Koopa (Super Mario)

????
This humble-looking creature prefers to shamble around the underground, navigating through the subway tunnels by the light of the lanterns they carry, lit by a single, never-extinguishing wisp of flame. No more than 3 feet tall, their bodies are covered with a reddish-orange fur robe that extends into a hood that rests over their heads. These hoods have pointed ears that function as a part of their body, and are quite sensitive to sounds. They have tails that act as an extension of the fur robe, fluffily bisecting into a fishtail-like shape.

Though the slick, green skin that peeks under their fur robes gives them the appearance of being organic, their glowing red eyes and metal beaks are the first hint that all is not as it seems. Their innards are completely mechanical, made up of RAM, various wires, and circuit boards, but those who can get as far as that are lucky - despite their reclusiveness, the creatures have inherently violent natures and are very territorial. They have an affinity for shiny, dangerously pointed objects, and will make their own shivs from scavenged materials if one cannot be readily found. These makeshift weapons will be readily brandished in their opposable paws, and they will not hesitate to stab and slash at anything that crosses their path.

Their presence can be detected by the “eggs” that they lay and leave about, which look suspiciously like generic AAA batteries. Despite their questionably chemical-like aftertaste, they are an excellent source of nutrition and can be broken and cooked like normal eggs.

Their violent nature makes these creatures difficult to befriend, but they respond positively to like minded individuals - those who can best them in a knife fight or show off equal displays of violence will be able to earn their respect. Though they tend to travel alone, the machine network these creatures use reaches all across the tunnels of Mementos, allowing information to spread rapidly and consistently throughout the underground.

Tonberries: Ignis Scientia (Final Fantasy XV)
Red foxes: Kimihiro Watanuki (xxxHOLiC)
Robot chickens: Indigo (Starbound)

Fluffy Mimics
Standing at about 8' tall, this creature has a striking appearance with large curved horns, brightly glowing eyes and a thick coat of black fur covering its body. Beneath the furry exterior, however, this quadrupedal beast is made entirely of metal, from its rows of razor-sharp teeth down to its three-toed feet.

At the end of its long tail is an odd metallic "face" with a single glowing lamp at its center. This creature can often be found hiding itself among the trees and bushes or under piles of trash, leaving only its ominously glowing tail to poke out into the open, luring its prey to investigate before springing out to attack. The tail can also imitate the speech of those around it in an odd accent that resembles garbled electronic noises.

These creatures are extremely dangerous and will prey on smaller creatures without mercy. They usually travel in small packs of two or three creatures and display a high degree of intelligence when it comes to hunting, though in all other regards they have roughly the intelligence of a very smart dog. However, they tend to not attack other machines unless provoked and may even form alliances with other machines, acting as guardians and messengers in exchange for food.

The mimic network is spotty due to their nomadic nature and the small size of their packs, but information may be shared quickly between any locations thanks to the general speed and mobility of these creatures. It is advised to give them several treats in exchange for their services so that they can share the rewards with their pack. Otherwise, they may become aggressive or refuse to cooperate in the future.

Geth: Legion (Mass Effect)
Zumyu: Nisha (Elsword)

Plants
Plants are non-sentient, organic species that appear and grow randomly within the world, often consumed by other species as a food source. Plants do not need to eat or sleep like other species and instead only need light and water to thrive.

People, in rare cases, may also be classified as plants. Plant people can survive solely on light and water like other plants.

Characters Classified as Plants
None

Mushrooms
Mushrooms can commonly be found in any dark places within the world, appearing suddenly and without warning. While some may be as small as a person's height, it's not uncommon for them to reach much larger sizes if given enough space to grow.

The average mushroom is about the size of a large tree, with a colorful cap and a pure white trunk. The entire skin of both the cap and trunk is smooth and marble-like in texture, and though the outer skin is hard and crunchy, the inner flesh of these mushrooms are edible and safe to eat. Smaller mushrooms may be eaten with their outer skins intact, but the larger ones may need to be chiseled down first.

Giant Mushrooms: Indigo (Starbound)

????
A wild plant with a spindly, vine-like stem covered in red flower buds that can be found growing almost anywhere. The flowers of this plant will not bloom on their own - they will only bloom once exposed to an open flame, producing their own inner light and warmth even after the flames are put out.

The leaves of this plant may be ingested or rubbed on a wound to numb pain and speed up the natural healing process. The flowers may also be consumed for their healing properties. However, instead of numbing pain the flowers will induce an intense feeling of heat to the applied area.

Elfroot: Cole (Dragon Age: Inquisition)
Living Lanterns: Legion (Mass Effect, Lifeaftr CRAU)

????
These flora-fauna hybrids are partially sentient tree fruit that draw their sustenance from underground ley lines. Their fruits come in a variety of shapes, colors and flavors, but differ most radically based on the environments they grow in. These environments, when combined with the mana from nearby ley line deposits, give the fruit minor elemental properties.

The trees they grow on have a natural life cycle of seven days - a fruit planted in the ground near at least one ley line will sprout into a sapling, then flower, and finally produce more fruit. If left unpicked, the fruit will fall to the ground and the cycle will begin anew. The number of fruits a tree will bear will depend on the density of mana flow around its roots. Strangely, the trees tend to naturally grow in straight, evenly-spaced groves.

Despite their wide variety, the one common trait that all of the fruits share is a pair of wide, oval-shaped eyes that blink curiously at passersby. Their expressions will change if someone approaches to pick them, ranging between mild surprise to utter panic. If you listen closely when you pick one off a branch, you may hear a quiet, high-pitched squeak that gently fades away into silence. The subspecies of fruits are as follows:

  • Purplish-blue fruits with a bulbous shape that grow in clusters. These fruits can be commonly found near populated areas and locations with electronics. They will deliver a weak static shock when picked off of their tree branches and have a dry, somewhat chalky texture. When ingested, they give a boost in energy that grants enhanced alertness for 2-3 hours, with the trade-off of intense fatigue once the effect has worn off. This effect is particularly potent after a lightning storm has passed through the area they were harvested from.

  • Reddish-orange fruits that grow from a long, twisting stem. These fruits can be commonly found in hot places close to fire or lava, sometimes even growing directly out of flaming soil. The fruit is incredibly spicy, and creates a tingling, burning feeling when it makes contact with bare skin. If you’re able to stand the taste, they will grant increased resistance to heat and high temperatures for 2-3 hours, as well as temporary immunity to burns.

  • Fruits with a pinkish-green hue, large leaves and a tender exterior that grow exclusively in subterranean locations. If dropped on the ground, the fruits will quickly burrow themselves up to their stems by rotating like a drill. Their flesh is chewy, somewhat grainy, and tooth-achingly sweet. Consuming these fruits will completely nullify the effects of any other consumed fruits or plants within five minutes, though this will also remove beneficial effects.

  • Bell-shaped, yellowish-brown fruits that have a tough and jagged outer layer, more akin to a shell than skin. These fruits tend to grow in rocky, mountainous locations, as well as on the sides of cliffs. It isn’t advisable to bite into them raw, unless you want broken teeth - the outer layer should first be crushed with a suitable tool to reveal their softer, pinker, far more edible flesh. They have a neutral taste when eaten by themselves, but their juice has a powerful calming effect, instantly curing any headache and relieving mental stress.

  • Ocean blue-colored fruits that can be found near locations with underwater ley lines, sometimes growing directly in the shallow waters. They have a subtly sweet taste and gelatin-like texture, encased in a thin, translucent membrane that “sweats” a sticky substance. Though they’re quite messy to eat raw, their restorative properties can help to speed the healing process of small wounds.

  • Round, light blue fruits with a pattern of white rings on their skin that can easily be found in cold and snowy locations. Biting one feels like crunching through a layer of fresh snow, paired with a crisp, sour taste that lingers in the mouth. Despite always being cold to the touch, they will increase body heat when ingested and can grant temporary resistance to cold for 2-3 hours.

  • Small, round, greenish-yellow fruits can be found on trees in wide and open areas. When picked, they will inflate themselves to three-times their original size by sucking in air like a balloon, though they will deflate back to their original size if poked with something sharp. They are light and crisp when bitten into; the smaller the fruit, the more satisfying their sweet-tart flavor is. Eating one of these fruits will grant a potent infusion of mana comparable to that of a ley line deposit, as well as give you minty fresh breath.
Berry trees: Raihan (Pokémon)
Slimes: Venti (Genshin Impact)

Spirits
As powerful as they are capricious, spirits are ethereal beings that are uniquely affected by the flow of influence within the world. Their abilities vary between both species and individuals, but can often be described by a single element, concept or purpose. Spirits thrive in the spotlight, growing in strength when acknowledged and praised by people, but this also applies in the reverse - when they are ignored or shunned, they will lose strength and become weak.

Spirits may grow and gain more powers when given attention, but the type of attention matters. Because they are so intrinsically tied to the influence of people, spirits are defined by how people choose to perceive them. A spirit's alignment may change over time, but will always fall into one of two categories. Pure spirits are spirits that have gained their strength from praise, respect, and other sincere forms of positive attention. They are typically helpful and kind entities, compelled to offer their assistance to anyone in need. Corrupt spirits are spirits that have gained their strength from scorn, disgust, and other forms of negative attention. They are often pranksters that thrive on the misfortune of people, though in more extreme cases they may resort to violence and other malicious acts to build more powerful emotions like fear and hate.

People may also be classified as spirits. Spirit people may feed off the influence of any non-spirit in the form of prayers or offerings, granting them spiritual power. Spirits may also forgo sleeping and eating as long as they constantly remain in the presence of other people; however, if they are alone for extended periods they will feel weak and tired.

Pure spirit people are granted the following abilities:
  • They may expend some of their spiritual power to grant a blessing to a person, giving them “good luck” for the rest of the day. The strength of this blessing depends on the strength and influence of the spirit.
  • They may sense the emotions and surface thoughts of any non-spirit within their direct line of sight. This ability comes naturally and cannot be turned off without significant effort.

Corrupt spirit people are granted the following abilities:
  • They may expend some of their spiritual power to put a curse on a person, giving them “bad luck” for the rest of the day. The strength of this curse depends on the strength and influence of the spirit.
  • They may plant a specific emotion or surface thought in the mind of any non-spirit within their direct line of sight. The person affected by this ability will be unable to distinguish the implanted emotions and thoughts from their own, though they cannot be forced to do anything against their will. This ability can be used intentionally or unintentionally.

????
These mysterious beings are spirits that inhabit tools, appliances, and other usable objects, most commonly found inside of the trash that washes up on the shores of Takoba Beach. They cannot speak, but they can understand simple Language spoken by people. While their primary goal is to be paid attention to and utilized for the purpose dictated by their chosen vessel, their poor senses of judgement draw them to objects that tend to be forgotten and seldom used by their owners. In retaliation, they will play pranks on those that have claimed them - it starts subtly, such as hiding other more-frequently used items in the hopes that they will be used instead, but will become increasingly malicious as they are ignored.

With proper attention and patience, it is possible to calm the spirits down enough to placate them. Show them enough care and you can even become friends with them - they’ll still pull pranks every so often, but much more playfully.

I'll give a short list here! Any creatures based partially on Pokémon, Blue has continued to call by their native names:

The bird-cat creatures are Pidgey
The dragon fish are Magikarp
The painter creatures in Wall Market are Smeargle

Additionally, Blue's favored choice of name for the chicken nugs is Chickpee!
thunderwave: +dragonite (dragons eat first.)

Like all other Pokemon trainers, Lance is still convinced half of these things are actually Pokemon.

So the dragon fish are Magikarp.
The bird-cats are Pidgey.
The painter creatures are Smeargle.

Lance has also been alternating between chicken (thanks to some non-Pokemon folks calling it a chicken) and chicken hand thing for the chicken nugs. I know that is not helpful. But this is where we are at.

Unlike the Pokémon trainers, Kaiba has not deluded himself into thinking these are duel monsters variants. Nevermind that he totally used to think they were.. I'm sorry for his names in advance, since the monsters are great!

The winged giraffe are winged-giraffe.
The painters are rejected fur hire. Related to a cardgame archetype. He definitely would not call the creatures this to their faces, because they can be useful.
The dragon-fish are landfish nothing dragon-like about them.. to him.
The pidgey-cat-bunnies are mutated pigeons.
The metal creatures with piranha plants are tin-cans.
The chicken with the human hands for feet he just calls them abominations.

Additions:
The disembodied stuffed animal heads are: Frightfurs
Bipedal chicken/reptiles he's semi adopted Ahsoka's: Blurrgobo but he also thinks of them as Niwatori.
The zummyu/geth is a Mimic.
As for the red flowers that require fire they are Fire-flowers.
Lastly, the spirits inhabiting tools and making a general nuisance of themselves when they are desirous of attention are Jama.

The giraffes are Raffesi, the painters are Brushboys, the naked chickens are Dinner Tomorrow - ok fine, Chickawoos, the horrifying needle bears are Teddy Scares, and you can keep Blurrgobo for those... things; I'm not touching that one with a 39 and a half foot pole.

The hopping fish is Megacarp and the flying crabbit is Kittyby

Machines are awful, and I refuse to name them.

All of the creatures that contain a Pokemon element, he calls by their Pokemon name (Smeargles, Magikarps, Pidgeys) but denotes the difference from "real" Pokemon by changing the plural (Pokemon have the same singular and plural, one Smeargle two Smeargle, but for these he adds the s, one Smeargle two Smeargles).

    ---

Indigo also calls the giraffes winged giraffes because she actually knows what a giraffe is.

The chicken nugs are naked chickens.

    The Zumyu-Geth are fluffy robots.

slides in late with some awful name ideas

    Pirahna-stubbies are Type-C Drones.
    Zumyu-geth are Type-G Mimics.
    Elfrootlanterns are spicy yggdrasil.
Both chocoblurgs and chicken nugs are ugly birds.
Cabbitdgeys are cute... I mean, flying cats.
Tsukumogami are cursed garbage and belong in the trash.

Parsee keeps calling the awakened tools in town Tsukumogami But Living tools works pretty well too!

She's so creative when it comes to naming things.

...she also privately thinks cursed garbage is hilarious.

Supplemented by input from Venti, Raihan has taken to calling the living fruit Slimeberries. Zhongli has also taught him about Tevyat's elements, which has led to him calling the subspecies of each slimeberry a weird combination of the element + what he recognizes the berry to be.

    Purplish-blue -- Chectro (Chesto + Electro)
    Reddish-orange -- Pyri (Pyro + Cheri)
    Pinkish-green -- Dechdra (Dendro + Pecha)
    Yellowish-brown -- Gersim (Geo + Persim)
    Ocean-blue -- Hyran (Hydro + Oran)
Light blue ring pattern -- Crysper (Cryo + Aspear)
    Greenish-yellow -- Aneppa (Anemo + Leppa)

I think I figured out which berries you guys used based on the flavour text, but let me know if I misread!

    Player: PipMcGee
    Character: Bowser

    New Species: Dragon
Reason: While Bowser himself does not possess wings, it is possible for a Koopa to do so (most notably a type of Koopa known as a "Koopa Paratroopa"). Bowser is not considered a dragon in his own world, but a being unfamiliar with a Koopa of Bowser's species are likely to consider Bowser a 'dragon,' or a dragon-like creature. Furthermore, Bowser possesses horns, claws, scales, sharp teeth, and an aggressive temperament, all of which are traits mentioned in the description for the Dragon category.

    Character: Seto Kaiba

    New Species: Dragon
Reason: Seto might not possess the usual dragon traits, aside from being naturally aggressive & dangerous to handle, but he's always been closely associated with the species and he even introduced them here unwittingly. Many people likely are familiar with his using Blue-eyes white dragons and it's various support and offshoots in his deck, but there's also the xyz dragon cannon, and the fang of Critias more recently. Plus he totally fashioned his look off of the Blue-eyes aesthetic. The guy is obsessed with dragons, so why not become one? Also like the dragons in lore he totally likes to hoard things: please see his briefcase full of every card ever save for the highly limited ones like the Egyptian Gods. I had to try, thank you for your consideration! I can amend and add more reasons if needed.

    New Species: Machine
Reason: They're a robot. If you need more reason than that, everyone sees them as a machine, they see themselves as a machine, and they feel a kinship with synthetic life over organic.

They're the whole reason that the machine species possesses the traits it does: thought and perspective sharing were imprinted from the Geth.

    Character: Turing

    New Species: Machine
Reason: They are also a robot! Their body is made of plasteel and silica, and they have components instead of organs. They are capable of wireless communication with other machines and networks (in canon, at least). They strongly identify as a mechanical being, and they're proud of being one, too.

    New Species: Divine? Deity? Myth?
Reason: As there are a few deities and the like be-boppin' around, I thought that perhaps they could be classified as something other than human? I just threw those three things up to get the ball rolling. ^_^

    Player: Lavvy
Character: Add (+ Dynamo by association)

    New Species: Machine
Reason: Add is a cyborg, complete with brain implants and cool cyborg eyes and some stuff in his arms that lets him shoot lightning pew pew! And Dynamo is 100% machine and already telepathically linked to Add, so he's already kinda part of a hivemind of his own (and if Add is still too organic-y to be a machine on his own, Dynamo can join the cool kids machine hivemind club and Add would still get access to it by proxy, if that works?)

Also just to ask, but if Dynamo is included under the machine classification here would it be possible for them to remain "awake" outside of thunderstorms? Since Add considers Dynamo to be more of a friend/partner and extension of himself than an object. I would assume Dynamo's abilities would keep the same restrictions they have now, tho! If it's a no then that's fine I just figured I'd ask while I'm here.

    Player: AC
    Character: Merlin

    New Species: Spirit
Reason: He's canonically half-incubus, a fact that's been mentioned ICly a number of times in-game already, and the specific iteration of him that he was apped as is him manifested as a Servant, which is essentially a superpowered ghost/spirit of a hero. (Well, it's a little more complex than that, but Servants are composed solely of magical energy and don't have flesh and bodies, just the superficial appearance of such.) So! Either way he's pretty spirit-ish, even if normally not in quite the same manner as it currently is defined in-game.
